When my husband asked me when I first realized I lacked confidence my answer came quickly: middle school. What followed was a journey through comparison, self-worth, motherhood, and discovering that God is using my daughters to heal parts of me too.

Looking back, it's easy to connect the dots. But living them is a different story. This is a reflection on motherhood, military life, education, business, and the faithfulness of God through every chapter.

I almost scrolled right past the memory. A Beachbody commercial from 2016 that felt like a huge moment at the time. Ten years later, I'm realizing the commercial was never really the story. The woman God was shaping through every season that followed was.

For so long, I tied my identity to what I did. This season, God is teaching me something different: who I am in Christ is not earned, it’s already given.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a pull toward something unfamiliar in a full season of life—rest. Not earned, not scheduled, but received. This is what I’m learning about Sabbath, trust, and letting go.

For years, I thought balance meant separating faith, motherhood, health, and work into neat compartments. What I’m learning now is that alignment comes when everything is connected and building from that place feels like peace.

Clarity doesn’t usually arrive as answers. It comes as a quiet invitation, to slow down, listen honestly, and release what no longer aligns so peace can take root.

There’s a quiet question many women carry but rarely say out loud: Can I prioritize my family and still honor my calling? In seasons filled with work, motherhood, and responsibility, it can feel like choosing one means losing the other. But calling doesn’t disappear when life shifts, it deepens, matures, and often asks us to lead differently.

This year taught me that a good life can still feel heavy. Through overwhelm, honesty, rest, and surrender, God gently reshaped how I carry life forward. These seven lessons are the ones I’m taking with me into the next season.
